With this breeding value estimation, a rolling base adjustment was introduced. This means that in future there will no longer be a major change once a year (in April) as before, but continuously at each of the three annual breeding value estimation dates. For black and white bulls, this had an average effect of -34 kg milk and half a point for conformation and health and -1.5 points for RZG compared to the April 2024 base. A further change was made in August with the revision of the RZRobot with some new traits and several optimal traits.
The No.1 in Germany is SUEZ
Unlike the waterway that gives him his name, our daughter-proven bull SUEZ faced no obstacles on his way to the top of the list. With now over 100 daughters in his breeding value, the outcross sire (Outlast x Octoberfest) was able to gain one RZG point despite base adjustment and placed himself confidently in first place with 147 RZG. His medium-framed daughters stand out with a good milk yield with very high components (93 kg fat), good persistency and firmly, high attached udders that are easy to milk.

As the second highest newcomer, MIRCO (Mick x Reserve) landed directly in 7th place with 145 RZG and is convincing in all aspects. His productive daughters show a lot of capacity and impress in the herd with excellent metabolism (116 RZMetabol) and udder health (117 RZS). GENIUS was an absolute favourite right from the start. Almost 600 daughters have now been added to his breeding value since April and he has increased by a remarkable 5 RZG points, so that he now ranks 8th with 144 RZG. 75 of his daughters are in Italy, where he stands with the impressive 4575 PfT. He offers excellent udders, more strength, high milk production (+1644 kg) with good milkability (113 RZD) and great health values (119 RZhealth). The stylish GENIUS heifers always attract a great deal of interest at the monthly auctions in Osnabrueck and easily achieve above-average prices. The Gywer son thus not only delivers stylish and problem-free daughters, but also very satisfied breeders who continue to use him in their breeding programme. OHG also delivers the number one on the economic scale. The milk maker METRO remains stable at + €2239. His medium-framed daughters are characterised by a high willingness to perform (154 RZM) and very good fitness, especially in terms of udder health (124 RZS). METRO is also in demand due to his alternative Triple A code of 513642. The all-time favourite CALVIN remains unchanged at 141 RZG, whereby with over 1,800 daughters in the breeding value, the milk yield was increased by 200 kg to +1844 kg with slightly positive components. Thus, the No.1 Casino son remains a safe bank for productive daughters with great feet and legs (121). The newcomer SAMUEL P RDC gained 4 RZG points and is the second highest Solitair P son with 139 RZG and the third highest polled bull in the top list. DANIEL (Dateline x Imax) and SUSSEX (Suprem x Sylvert) are now also equipped with sufficient daughter information and make their debut in the proven list with 136 RZG and 135 RZG. Also still represented in the Top 100 are GATES (139 RZG), KENNY (139 RZG), BELAMI (138 RZG), LINDY (135 RZG) and FELIX (135 RZG).
Breeding progress is our business – genomic highlights
The star in the OHG sky COMET is absolutely stable with 156 gRZG. The highest and so far only available Concept son has been intensively used as a sire of sons in recent months and has great availability. He offers +996 kg milk with +0.28 fat and +0.10 % protein and a conformation profile that many breeders desire with a medium rear leg angle (100) and ideally positioned, slightly wider rumps. The high attached, firm udders with slightly longer teats (107) are perfectly suitable for robots (120 RZRobot). In combination with high longevity (gRZN 123) and a good health breeding value profile with strengths in the claw area, he promises productive, long-lived daughters. SURFER is also still represented in the Top 20 with 155 gRZG. With his impressive gRZM of 157 and a plus of +2296 kg milk with +0.01 % fat and -0.05 % protein, he leaves the competition behind and is ranked 1st for RZM by far. SURFER is the highest and also the most complete son of the OHG outcross bull sire SUNRISE and, like his sire, a milk production pro. The first SUNRISE daughters in milk in the OHG region confirm the image of strong and healthy heifers that produce a lot of milk with ease.
In addition, the two full brothers SKIP (153 RZG) and SKADI (151 RZG) will soon join the OHG programme. These two highest Skater sons bred by Thomas Nölker, Pye, are also of interest as sires of sons; the first flushes have already been carried out with SKIP in the OHG breeding programme. Via their dam TNP Dream Girl GP-84, they subsequently trace back to the influential DE-SU Oman 6121 via Ikarus x Dolph x Eloquent x Lewis x Planet x Bolten. Due to their less common bloodlines, the two are very versatile. SKIP combines his high gRZG with an equally high gRZE of 133 and offers more strength (114) than size (101) and 118 BCS. His fitness breeding values are above average (123 gRZhealth) and he is suitable for robots (116 RZRobot). SKADI also has a very appealing breeding value profile. In terms of conformation, he does not quite reach the level of his brother with 127 gRZE, but he offers an attractive linear profile with 126 for feet and legs and also good robot suitability (117 RZRobot). He also offers a very high milk yield of +1723 kg, a top health profile with high Mortellaro resistance (120 DD control).

NEXO and MILO also perform consistently in the top list with 152 and 150 gRZG. NEXO continues to be one of the highest available top bulls for feed efficiency (116 RZFE) and also receives a breeding value for automatic milking suitability this time (118 RZRobot), after the makeover of the RZRobot-index. The highest red factor bull is ROCKET RDC with 153 gRZG. His dam, the red-coloured JS Relevation, was auctioned at the TGA 2022 and traces back to the famous foundation cow, Whittier Farms Outside Roz EX-95, via Solitair P x VG-85 Bestday x VG-85 Afterbruner x VG-85 Balisto x VG-87 Epic x VG-87 MoM x EX-91 Elegant. ROCKET RDC is a later Rover son and the only one with a red factor. His advantages include positive components with a good milk production as well as his health and conformation breeding values, especially for feet & legs (117) and udder (123). Another plus is his robot suitability (118 RZRobot) and easy calvings (112 SCE). Another red factor bull in the OHG range is GLEO RDC, who keeps his gRZG unchanged at 147 despite the base adjustment. This bull is of particular interest to fans of GENIUS, as his Best Benz dam Meggi GP-84 is a half-sister to the latter. There are also many similarities in the breeding profile, as GLEO RDC also promises daughters with a lot of capacity, great feet & legs and udders as well as good milk production and fertility (114 gRZRepro, 116 gRZR).
In the polled segment, the Hottop P son HOCKEY P is ready for action at 142 gRZG and offers many possible uses thanks to his Solitair P-free pedigree. The dam line goes back to the N-cow line of Apke via Dayne x GP-84 Gywer x GP-84 Cyrano x VG-88 Silver Nelli x Shotglass Nena VG-86. HOCKEY P has a very complete breeding value profile with clear strengths in the health area, especially for gRZ-claw (115) and Mortellaro resistance (115 DD control). The highly sought-after homozygous polled outcross bull RAMBO PP stands at 140 gRZG.
For the new insemination season, OHG will soon be able to offer an extremely complete and interesting new polled bull in the red and coloured segment: MEGA RED P with 154 gRZG. Through his Sailor PP dam Abby VG-85 he offers an extremely proven and successful cow family with Spark-Red x Nugget RDC x Supersire and then EX-90 Super Aderyn x EX-91 Goldwin Aiko x EX-95 Durham Altitude. In addition to a high milk yield of +1498 kg and positive components, MEGA-RED P also offers a convincing conformation profile in all aspects with a medium rear leg angle (98), even and slightly wider rumps and firmly attached udders with slightly longer teats (108). CASH-RED P is now at 151 gRZG and placed in the Top 25. In addition to his top conformation breeding values, especially in the udder (124), he is an all round health specialist (127 gRZhealth) with a special focus on Mortellaro resistance (DDcontrol 115) and udder health (116 gRZudder fit, 118 gRZS).
